Not the best day...
Lake Ontario MCP
Pushed-off around 5:00 to increasing onshore wind conditions; rigged my favourite 8.3 sail and had a couple of nice runs, then the wind came down like a freight train, could not handle the gusts anymore, catapulted a couple of times, couldn’t hold on to the wing, then sort of got stuck in the middle of the lake amongst hauling gusts!
Rather than fighting it, I slowly drifted back to launch, took some rest-recovery time, chatted with Todor who saw the failure out there, and came to inquire about my misfortunes.
Finally rigged a 6.7 and went out again. Smaller rig was much more manageable, still gusty but not crazy. 1 other sailor on the water, and on my way back I met hangloose who was praising the virtues of lake Erie, after that unbalanced performance on Ontario I may want to follow his advice!
