too much wind?

Lake Erie LBCA

Went to the park with Chris today. Rigged a 4.5 (the smallest I have) and Chris was on his 5.0 and then 4.2. Wind was west with big waves. Sailed way overpowered. It was a survival sailing most of the time, bascically going back and forth with some jumps. On my last run, coming in for the jibe, was catapulted (sp?) so bad that I thought I broke my back. Chris lent me his 3.7 but the wind was switching to NW so it was either too much power or no power at all, so had to call it a day. The water was still warm enough to sail bare handed. Saw a few kiters and one windsurfer (is that you, Northshore?) from Side Road 26. A good day nevertheless. Will have to buy a 4.0 or smaller next year. There should be still some good days left and the season is by no means over.
