Lake Erie Sherkston
Got to the beach at about 10.30am to find Jim rigging 5m. and Dan a 4.7. I rigged a 4.7 tight. After a couple of runs, I came back in to loosen it up a little since the wind was somewhat gusty and was great for quite a while. After lunch the wind seemed to crank up a little, so I tightened the sail again and had a few great runs getting carried away downwind with the waves feeling confident that there's plenty of wind to come back with. All of a sudden it shut off and had to walk back. For this session the wind was SW with some waves coming in at head high, some clean and some with lots of chop. The cleaner larger waves produced some decent riding. I really thought that was the end of it. After a while I decided to de-rig my 4.7. Wind had switched to W (Yeah) and was back up. Rigged a 5.7 And nailed another session. Waves on the reef cleaned up and longer. Some good rides but again, it suddenly shut down. Left the beach at about 5.30. A fun day with a nice small croud!
