"Windsurfing for Breakfast!?!"

Lake Simcoe Beaverton

Ya that's right- (solo) dawn patrol! On the water before 8:00 am to get some before it backed off. WindAlert readings at Lagoon City was reading 25 gusting 31 mph but there is no way it was that. Rigged up the 6.4M on the 106L Flare and tooled around for 2.5 hours. The water level was quite low so it made for some unusual terrain. Nice clean rows of waves farther out than normal with more girth and a larger feild of waves to play in than normal. Clean waist high swells for wave slashing and enough girth to them that I couldn't push off the top of them. Pretty cool now, gloves are a must. Used my thin Excel glove, keep the wind off the hands but don't supply much warmth. Let my hands freeze to the point of growling at the pain when they warmed up in the van- not fun! Checked out Heritage Farms after to see what gives. I swear there is always just a little bit more wind up there and way bigger waves, but I was not eager to sail in deep water and waves by myself in the cold.
