Raising the Bar

Georgian Bay Allenwood Beach

Windiest day I have been on the water since I started 15 years ago. One out and back on the 4.0 then back in to rig the 3.5 for the first time. Much more manageable after I figured out the harness lines etc. Minimal low end grunt but once planing handled the gusts like butter. Sailed in between the rock piles as no one had the stones to venture out to the monsters off the lower bowl. NW winds allowed for some sweet air time but for most of the day it was strictly survival sailing. Hoping tomorrow will be better with only 40km forecasted. Will estimate the wind strength based on Southern Georgian Bay Buoy reading. Great to see Tuck Tape Mike and Joey out, it had been a while for both.
