Epic!

Lake Erie Sherkston

Side to side off winds and big smooth waves today. Wrist still tender from the last session but I just had to try...and it wasn't too bad. At first, well overpowered on my small sail, totally downhauled and outhauled, didn't even bother going down the line as I didn't really trust my wrist. The wind was gusty and the waves were super long and smooth. But then I started to get comfortable and more confident about the wrist and started picking up some waves and had a blast going down the line. Had lots of short sessions today as I didn't want to over stress the wrist. On one particular session, i decided to go way out to gain some upwind ground. Back to the wind, I didn't see the squall coming and it hit me as I was jibing!...which ended up being a yard sale. Getting back on board I realized I was in the middle of a fast moving squall. Holy crap, front foot stuck to the mast base trying to keep the board on the water, sail fully open, seemed to be going at a 100mph! Luckily, that didn't last too long and back in control took another set before heading in for another break. Those few minutes in that squall sucked all the energy out of me.

Towards the end of the day, the wind had shifted quite a bit more off shore, so I got the 92 out as the wind was basically out at the reef. Beyond the reef it was super strong but manageable for most part.

Wished my wrist was in better shape today, but I still had lots of fun out there! Lots of stoke on the beach!
