PSC-5: Nice to Get Some Air

Pacific Ocean Punta San Carlos: Beach Break & Bombora

Nice to see the Solos Sports crew take to the water including Luis (surfing), Mark (windsurfing), and Kevin (kiting). Kevin really knows this place as he was sailing his kite deeper into the corners and seems of this special place.

Quote(s) of the day:

Tyson (carrying his SUP to the water): “Interesting how just after you pick up your SUP the wind comes up!”

Tyson (after Peter took a hard fall): “Ooooooooooooh! John, your brother is just killing himself!”

Maryam (standing up at the camp): “Dave are you finished for the day?”

Me: “Yes. All done.”

Maryam: “Good! When the ‘Iron Man’ has stopped for the day I can rest guilt free!” [Laughter]

Me: “Well I was impressed to see you charging out for more late in the day!”

Weather Conditions

Wind * (out of five stars)

Cape Sebastian like gusty wind caused by the stronger wind and side-off direction.

Water/Waves *** (out of five stars)

Waist high with the occasional over-head high sets. Clean lines were still forming although some of the west/ northwest swell was bending away from the beach making riding harder.

Jumps * (out of five stars)

Got the first few jumps of the trip (well powdered to overpowered on the way out made jumping possible for the first time on the trip. Nice to get some air!

Stoke *** (out of five stars)

Nice to be on smaller gear in stronger wind and sail Bombora for the first time, but the gusty conditions did make for a challenging afternoon.
