PSC-7: Big Smiles

Pacific Ocean Punta San Carlos: Beach Break & Bombora

Noon today marked the halfway point in the trip and the conditions have been good so far presenting lots of options! Super fun four-sport day today (SUP, surfing, SUP-sailing and windsurfing)!

More lessons learned in the clinic (forwards, staying high on the wave to build speed, off-the-lip).

Quote(s) of the day:

Reiner (after SUP-sailing): “That is sooooooo much fun for so little effort.” [with an ear-to-ear grin] I couldn’t agree more!

Weather Conditions

Wind *** (out of five stars)

There was super strong wind at the end of the day yesterday and into the night but it had calmed down by morning. But it filled in again early to put a stop to the SUP paddling and surfing.

Water/Waves *** (out of five stars)

Playful little waist to chest high waves throughout most of the day with a little slack tide lull.

Jumps ** (out of five stars)

Some jumps were possible today in the breaking waves when powered up on the way out.

Stoke **** (out of five stars)

Always nice to get in three sports before lunch (SUP, surfing and SUP-sail). It was a treat to surf with Reiner. But it was the SUP-sail that brought big smiles to both Reiner and I. Delightful down-the-line conditions that produced poetic slow-motion wave sailing and we were the only two out having the place to ourselves.
