Weird Direction but still fun

Lake Ontario Mac's Point

Got out of an appointment early and it was WINDY.

Wind was mostly south so headed to the lighthouse to get some good front-side at that end of the County - Doming.

Drove back to the other side to get the wind coming off the land. Macs was dead onshore but it was sunny at least.

Sailed marginal 5.9 for a while and then it ramped up big time. Measured 30 knots on the shoreline. Switched to 5.3 and 83 quad and enjoyed the waves going the wrong way for me. Good have used a much smaller sail but needed the extra punch to get upwind and offshore. Starting to improve my port tack air a little I think. Hard to do too much in dead on shore. Had a couple of spectacular sail-in-the -face backwind crashes trying to go front-side the wrong way for me...OUCH.

Still a great couple of hours sailing with Joe. Still haven't had a good west day and the year is almost half over - grrrrrr.

Weather Conditions

Onshore, choppy turning to waves
