Paddle-Sail-Paddle Repeat

Erie Crystal Beach

Friday13th

In "AM"caught local forecast on WIVB 4 local Buffalo TV They showed squall line moving down Lake Erie so headed down to beach and pre rigged 5.7 &106 hoping for a sesh ahead of storms

.As skies darkened wind ramped up.Headed out marginally planning and it filled in from there to point of just before storm hit could have been on 5.3.Completely flat blasting for good hour headed in when heard rumblings.Storms passed then wind filled back in although lighter so out with wind/sup & 5.1 for a few more hours....fun fun.

Saturday got a pleasant surprise in afternoon when filled in 10+knts with stronger gusts was going to shoot over to Sherks but could see nice little wave breaking downwind of old CrystalBeach pier that I have paddled over to when flat and been curious to try So grabbed the wind/sup & 5.1 and broad reached down and had a couple of hours on this fun little break...although nervously shallow limestone rocky ledge sets the wave up.l hope to try it again in paddle mode while water level is still up..

Overall fun sunny seshes just nice to see no doming, maybe there's hope.
