Wonky first day

Lake Erie Lowbanks

Arrived at friends place on Lake Erie to celebrate Canada Day (and windsurf) at 12:30. The lake is rolling - has been for a few hours... finally get to try out my new board - 7'8 Rogue. Rig 5.0 and out we go. Instant gratification. Big floater jump, couple more and a few jibes, then the wind starts to drop. Scott wisely heads for shore. Not me. End up swimming back, walk of shame. What can you do? Watch the wind for an hour or two, it never dissappears, so back out with 6.5 and 9'6 carbon race. First session is just slogging - looks windier than it was; take a break and then decide it's picked up and back out - this session makes my day, clocked a few runs over 40km/hr. Nice first day on the water for me - no damaged equipment and body in tact.

Weather Conditions

initially beautiful - sunny, windy and wavy; later just choppy
