Everything I hoped it would be...and more!

the PACIFIC OCEAN Pistol River, OREGON COAST

Ask me about my drive sometime - for now, just the sailing goods.

Pulled up to the Pistol River parking lot to lots of wind and courduroy lines of swell coming in, bright sunshine and temps in the 70"s at least. Walked down to that iconic rock and saw an orange-helmeted, ezzy sailor about to launch - C36 waved and he came over, welcomed me and proceeded to give me all the information, tips, warning and inside info I needed - what a great guy!

Rigged 4.7 and watched for a little while to get the rhythm of the shorepound and swells. Made it out unscathed and had an absolute blast. Had some rides, some poundings and a couple of good jumps. Way more power in the waves than at Macs but other than some good washings and some salt water nasal rinses not too bad. Never ask Americans about water temps - they all said booties were mandatory but it really wasn"t that cold at all. Maybe just the day.

It was a loooong trip, and I had high hopes for this trip - which have so far been met and more. I have never sailed a more rugged and beautiful spot - AWESOME
