Just another perfect day
Pacific Ocean Pistol River, OREGON COAST
There were rumblings of gales and crazy wind today so we were advised to hit it early before it really went off. It didn't end up that way and I'm glad because I still sailed my smallest today so any more would have been watching only. Not that watching wouldn't be fun as Brit Pro Jamie Hancock showed up again to show us how to throw thirty foot back loops, wave 360s and takas and some awesome backside hit shuv-its that had a few of us crashing in the shorebreak trying them. His tacks are actually almost too quick to see - awe inspiring to be sure.
The rest of the mortals had to make do with a firing Pistol and some good waves reaching up to about mast high in the rising tide. Full power for getting out so no real poundings for me - just the humbling experience of watching others pick more waves and crank superior turns. Big Wave Dave from Vancouver Island is a smooth waverider and smart finder of waves (orange sail in the pics)
Sailed until absolutely dead today as it may be my final coastal sesh. Am planning on one final tomorrow morning before heading to the gorge but it may be too windy.
Forecast for the next few days in Hood River is looking sweet.
Windy, warm, sunny, wavy - same old same old.
