Flaka [Day 5]: Best day in a long time, and some flaka progress

San Francisco Bay Candlestick Park

It was a "good old fashion stick day" with all the gang finally back togetehr at the stick: Brad, Sofi, Z, Jacob and Kevin, everybody riding 4.2 up to 4.8.

I hadn't packed smaller sails from yesterday so I went 4.8 which was good since there were still lulls in which I could try a move.

Lots of loops for Z, trying to get cleaner rotation.

Managed 2 spock 540's and a regular spock.

Also was working on my flakas with lots of mushy pops where I just slid the tail, but 2 good attempts. One of which had me crash in front of the mast. In hindsight I must have been sliding and the sail felt light and good.

Kevin gave me a thumbs up on the water and from shore said: I'll be buying beer soon. I guess some of the attempts looked good?

Supposedly I had one where

Tips from Kevin:

+ Drive rotation from the hips and stay forward

+ Don't hesitate, go for it once the sail goes light when carving down-wind

Weather Conditions

4.4 winds for sure, but I flattened out the sail which actually helped with the flaka
