Kettle Point Magic

Lake Huron Kettle Point

The forecast was still holding late Sunday for a good day at Kettle Point so the windmill, my son and I decided to make the trip and left early Monday am. Drove for 3 hours mostly in heavy rain to arrive at Kettle Point with clearing skies and lots of waves. Wind was not as strong as expected.

Rigged the 5.8, good for one hour, Lots of fun in the waves. As the sikes cleared, the wind picked up even more so off I went on the 4.9 and then 4.3. The waves got cleaner as the day passed so it really fun.

Not a lot of kiters that day (only 3-4) and quite a few WS (maybe 8).

Dillon did a great job learning to handle the shorebreak and the steep waves. Here's a shot of him and more of the day at

Weather Conditions

Winds from the North and then switched to NW. Choppy at first but cleaner later. Rollers on the outside were enormous. Nice clean sections to ride.

Water was surprisingly warm.
