Hunting we will go.

Lake Ontario Victoria Avenue, Near St. Catherines

Fathom and I decided to make the trek out west to chase wind despite the rain. We showed up to Victoria, and some wave but not enough wind to rig in driving rain and cold. We headed to LaSalle to check that out but too side off and flat as a pool table (boring). We headed back over to Victoria and wind was up and waves were rolling in - BINGO!!! Rigged up the 5.8 and 105L and out I went. Some nice ramps going out, rolling swells outside for surfy jibes, and up wind of the launch nice clean organized waves big enough to try front side. I think I'm slowly getting the hang of the front side as I'm not outrunning the waves into the flats as much, and actually able to come back at the wave. I have to admit it feels really awkward on the coming back in clew first with hips rotated over rail towards wave. I will persevere though and can't wait for a big SBX day to really hammer away at this. Fun times and glad to see Cliff came out to join in the fun. Too bad all the "sticks-in-the-mud" never came to play in their backyard.
