New NE Sailing Spot (No More Burlington Beach)

Hamilton Harbour Leander Boat Club

I hit the west end of Hamilton Harbour this morning and parked at Leander Boat Club. I launched in a weird spot by some swimming area that was closed off with some buoys. Once I got past that point and crossed the wind line I just took off like a rocket.

This is my new go-to spot for NE winds. The water was pretty flat and I was able to gybe so easily. I was just blasting back and forth for about an hour, flying pretty close to all the points and walk-way paths etc. Lots of people out for walks stopping to watch the planing action (and the crashes lol). Ahh my own little paradise cove, all to myself.

Wind died after 2hrs and then I had to figure out how to get back in. I didn't think about that.... Getting back to where I launched from was impossible - That wind shadow caused a real problem. I decided to head up wind a little, and just zoomed in to the leander boat club launch. I managed to get close to the dock and jump off my board and land on the dock. Pretty slick! Smoothest landing I've ever had. Then i just pulled my board and rig onto the dock and carried it back to my car.

I checked out Burlington Beach and the waves were insane. Glad I avoided that. Saw the typical SURFERS riding mush waves for 2 seconds then falling. Not sure what the appeal of that is.

Great morning!!! So glad I dragged my ass out there today. I woke up feeling like shit and thought about just sleeping the morning away. Glad I didn't!

Weather Conditions

Pretty flat water, consistent wind, beatiful scenary compared to the OTHER side of HH :) Had the whole place to myself.
