Got smashed

Lake Ontario Hamilton Side of Lift Bridge

Waves were huge, surfers were out. Wind direction was STRAIGHT ON SHORE! I couldn't get past the shorebreak! I tried so many times, almost made it then smash I'd go down. Lately I have gotten pretty proficient at getting through that, but today was too much.

The wind was strong enough to plane, but the direction was too much for me.

Finally I gave up trying to get out, and just strated planing back and forth in the waves. The period between waves was so great that I could do that. It was fun, but I got out before my gear got trashed. One time a wave swept my rig and board away and I thought for sure it was going to get destroyed (see picture 4).
