Late, Great Lake Break

Lake O MCP

Was a gift to get out this late. Filled in from the south west on our little local break. Must have been firing at Lake Erie. Elected not to do the drive but to launch locally. Powered, you could say on the starboard tack but dialled and not getting thrown around too much in the jibes. Planed a couple of nice ones off the swell which was running a decent 3- 4 ft. Had some great runs back into the beach. Would be interesting to GPS next year and see how fast it actually is. I was way wound up on the 7.6 and it felt really rapid but hard to tell with the big board/fin under the feet. Akin to driving the 4 door Porsche Panamera at 180km/hr but not really knowing. Water was a tad crispy so came in and wore me mitts. All in all a really enjoyable late season session. Note to self: Self! MCP = lazy option. It'll be worth the drive to Erie, Beaverton and Allenwood in 2011. Have trailer will travel.
