2013 Season Out With a Bang
Georgian Bay Allenwood Beach

After drying everything out this week packed it all back up for one last attempt at a session. At 2:15 I was sitting in Sandman's van feeling guilty for persuading him to drive all the way up to the Bay only to have about 10mph of wind and barely a whitecap. Over the next two and a half hours the winds kicked in big time and every piece of equipment I owed, with the exception of my 3.5, got wet at some point. Started out 5.8 / 112L but quickly rigged down. This turned out to be a common theme. 5.8 went to 5.0 to 4.5 and finally the 4.0. Winds went from W to NW to NNW peaking out at about 30mph. Winds rarely go NNW so the highlite of the day was being loaded up on the 4.0 heading almost straight off the beach into to massive ramps only to surf them back in. Good on Sandman for making the trip and apologies to Jim for making him late for dinner! Almost certain this marks the end of the 2013 season. 55km winds for tomorrow but with minus 2 temps I will be staying inside where it is warm. Last 4 sessions of the year included the 4.0m sail. I don't think that stat, for me, will ever be matched. That was one hell of a November.
