Sailing the north tower

Central Bay Crissy Field

Went down to Crissy to join Kevin, a nice change of pace for a weekend session since I didn't feel like fighting traffic to Treasure Island.

Looked really really light but I saw Kevin hit the water with his 90L/4.4. I went with a 4.8, but bagged out since it was windy on the far outside. Hit the water and started to head upwind to see if I could find Kevin. Eventually I saw him by the North Tower so went up that way. About 3/4 of the way, I saw Kevin sailing back just shaking his head.

Rather than turn back then, I went all the way up to the North tower to join a few sialors up there. Nothing special but it was cool be directly under the golden gate, all the way across the bay.

Played there for all of 5 minutes and then turned back to head in.

Enough wind to stay planing on the swell as I was going down-wind.

Nothing to sail in once I got back to shore, so a short-lived session.

+ Nailing a clean spock 540 a few feet from shore... complete and total show-boating but at least the tourists can see some windsurfing trickery admist all the big-airs by kiters

+ Sailed under the Golden gate for the first time

Weather Conditions

Light winds and no clean swell. I didn't find the water state too bumpy but Kevin found it horrible (and delaminated his board this day!!!)
