Can 100L wave boards work in lake ontario?

Can 100L wave boards work in lake ontario?

Hey everyone.
I am planning to buy a 100L JP but not sure if it will work ok for my weight 85kg and 6m sail. What do u think guys?

Yes, absolutely, but work for what? I weigh around the same as you do, and I have a 95 quad, and 105 single fin mostly for sailing waves.

A 100L JP, but what kind of JP?

I meant will it be ok to use it in light wind conditions? the board is JP Freestyle PRO Edition 100L.

That is NOT a waveboard. Unless you are planning on learning to actually do freestyle tricks (Vulcans , spocks, etc.) I'm not sure it's what you're after. It might be better though at planning in light winds as opposed to a wave board but you need to decide what your main use for your board of that size will be and select that way.

That's hardly a "light wind" board given your weight. I'd say at our weight a light wind board (< +/-15 kts) would be more in the 130+L range. I sail a GO 140L with a pretty long fin for free-riding. I'm sailing my 105 or 118L in 17 kts plus winds. My 95L quad is for 25 - 35 kts, and all wave boards.

That's excellent advice. Thanks alot. I will stick to my Bic veloce then I will just get a bigger sail for it.
