Iceboard DIY 2012

Postby Radius » Mon Oct 08, 2012 3:13 pm

Hi,

The water season is almost over, and its time to start your iceboard project. This is my board from last year if you need some inspiration. IceBoard Building instructions.

Best regards Claes

How dare you say the water season is almost over - that kind of talk is not welcome on this site. There are at least two months left! If God had intended for us to sail on ice - he wouldn't have invented wave fins!

lol,, there I was thinking what a great set up. The only problem is we rarely have ice that smooth and free of snow around here.

cool, its a 'quad'

last winter was really good, and gotta say, the speed and jibing is pretty darn addictive.
..and the ice doesnt have to be perfect... but when it is... woohoo...
ice is nice.
c'mon winter!

We also have some problems with snow over here, but often you can chase new ice going from small lakes in december ending up on the ocean towards february/march. A lot of folks over here use pirate boards. Like a snowboard with a small fin on snow, ridiculously fast +50 knots..: ) If you Crash on ice you glide, snow is not that frictionless...

Crashing on ice - 35 knots
